One of the most peaceful places we have ever attempted to capture.
We recorded this from a rocky outcrop so there are blended layers of waves. Soft sounds peel along the beach in view whilst a background whoosh comes from the larger waves behind. Occasional interruptions from the cry of seabirds and the bellow of a Highland Cow nearby.
The end of a sunny autumn day. A fishing boat comes back to shore after a day at sea. The sound of gentle waves at low tide splashes on the rocks of the ruined harbour below.
After a trip to Gairloch Museum we walked out to see this view of stormy skies over the Minch towards Skye and had to try and record it. It’s 30 minutes of a static view, a bit like a digital window of the grass moving through the wind and the storm clouds over the sea beyond.

The Lizard was bright blue and full of sunshine this weekend but the wind was wild. Sitting beside the tripod, we could see the coastal plants moving in waves across the cliffs and feel our faces and hair being blasted with salt.
A view of the Loch Maree shoreline, looking towards Slioch mountain. The sound of small splashes on the pebbles and a distant breeze. Filmed on a warm evening in August so the midge force was strong when recording this one.
We have just been to the Scottish Highlands for a holiday and spent a day recording the sounds and views of Red Point Beach, Scotland.
