The Lizard was bright blue and full of sunshine this weekend but the wind was wild. Sitting beside the tripod, we could see the coastal plants moving in waves across the cliffs and feel our faces and hair being blasted with salt.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beside the old Marconi Wireless Huts the wind was particularly fierce, moving the parched sun burnt grass and seed heads in waves with a loud whooshing sound. It was a challenge to keep the tripod steady to minimise camera shake.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We found somewhere nearby in the protection of the rocky headland to record but we still needed our most gale proof wind filter to cope and even that struggled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We set the cameras up in two different directions and watched the seagulls and choughs play in the breeze whilst the lifeboat bounced across the stormy waves on an emergency call out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Towards the end of the day we arrived at Poltesco to find the mood had completely changed. The wind was still howling and the sea looked wild but the sun was much lower casting shadows on the dark serpentine. On the shoreline, a flock of turnstones were busy foraging amongst the wet rocks. As the sun dipped below the cliffs it marked the end of a busy, windswept day of recording.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
